Thinning Hair

Thinning hair is seen with advancing age. It progresses with the general hair loss and thinning of the hair for a long time and it may or may not be accompanied by hair loss. In women, the frontal hairline is usually preserved and miniaturization is not severe compared to men. These observations support that androgens are the main factors in female pattern hair loss. Almond Hair

Living tissues consist of cells that always need to be fed and need many substances and vitamins to maintain their quality or are generated by these cells. And since the hair follicle is living tissue, it also needs to be fed. The reduction of these substances, which ensure the quality of the hair, occurs in the form of hair loss and deterioration of hair quality. Signs of deterioration of hair quality include hair thinning, being damaged quickly, stopping of the hair growth, reduction in the hair volume, being unable to get shape, and hair graying.

If the diameter of the newly growing hair is thinner than the hair ends, this is called thinning hair. (1)

Reasons for thinning hair;

  • Lightening the hair color using chemical products
  • Age factor
  • Long-term effect of hormones
  • Poor and unbalanced intake of nutrition

Substances that increase the quality of hair;

  • Keratin
  • Vitamin B7 (biotin)
  • L-Cystine
  • Silicon
  • Zinc
  • Magnesium
  • Vitamin B5

In Androgenetic Alopecia (AA), the follicles are miniaturized by narrowing from terminal hairs to vellus hairs. Physiologically, this process is thought to be slow and to progress through a series of follicular cycles. Almond Hair

The accuracy of miniaturization, which is a multi-stage process capable of converting a hair cycle into a telogen phase, has been clinically proven. It is accompanied by hair loss and may cause a decrease in the number of cells and the size of the dermal papilla.

This process completely affects the follicular units and its intensity determines the length, pigmentation, and diameter reduction of the hair shaft (2).

Telogen Effluvium is an abnormality of the hair cycle that occurs as a reaction to various physical or mental stresses. The degree of effluvium depends on the duration and exposure of the agent rather than its type. The Telogen Effluvium (TE) is a delayed result of the cycle of the transition of hair from the anagen phase to the telogen phase. It occurs when most of the hair in the anagen phase passes rapidly to the telogen phase at the first opportunity (3-5). Almond Hair
