Androgenetic Alopecia and Clinical Symptoms
Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) usually starts in men at the age of 20-40 after puberty. It begins with the recession of the forehead line from both temporal bones. Then, it continues with thinning of hair on the top of the head. Most of the individuals with AGA report that there is no increase in hair loss but a decrease in the amount of hair. In some individuals with AGA, complete baldness occurs within 5 years whereas the process is completed within 15-25 years in some men. In a study, the average hair loss was reported as 5% per year.
